Assumes the primary relationship responsibility for overseeing and growing the Commercial Banking book of business within a major geographic region of the bank. Assists in the development and coordination of procedures and in enhancing the growth and profitability of the loan portfolio. Continues to generate and book relationships as well as oversees a team of Commercial Bankers (portfolio managers and relationship administrators)
Assumes responsibility for growing the Commercial portfolio by interacting with potential and existing Commercial Banking customers.Developing and maintaining a comprehensive business plan and strategy for the market. Carries out a variety of business development activities to identify bank prospects, develops key centers of influence, and actively participates in industry related events and organizations. Leads the continuous building of S&T27s brand in the market including advisory boards.
Participates in the structuring, underwriting, approval process and closing of complex credit facilities developed within the team.
Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating financial data and presenting prescreens and approval packages to loan committee.
Providing guidance to Bankers on the team with structuring and presenting loan opportunities
Directs management of commercial team to include:
Developing, coaching and motivating team members as well as providing input with staff development.
Providing ongoing guidance and training to Commercial Bankers, portfolio managers and relationship administrators
Manages overall relationship profitability and portfolio risk and is responsible for:
Profitable growth of the portfolio and overseeing the pipeline.
Communicates and implements the market sales strategy with the Commercial Bankers.
Monitoring assigned loan portfolio regarding profitability risk ratings, and asset quality
Expense management for the assigned cost center.
Activity participates in monthly/quarterly meetings
Exercises approval authority including but not limited to annual reviews, loan packets, waivers, expense reports, etc.
Works with Product Partners, including Treasury Management, Private Banking and Business Banking to facilitate growth of the market and referral opportunities.
Ensures compliance with existing loan policies and procedures.
Participates in various community affairs and board involvement to promote good customer relations for the Bank.
Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.

The use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 70% of the business day, while 5% of the business day is spent operating other office equipment. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 1800 for computer work. Considerable travel required up to 75% of the time.
