Position: Commercial Banker V | Division: Commercial Banking|
WorkDays: Monday - Friday| Hours of Operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Position Overview:

This role assumesresponsibility for independently developing a portfolio of bankingrelationships with companies based in the DFW area. Targeted clients willprimarily be involved in manufacturing, distribution, and professional servicesindustries, with revenues ranging from $5MM to $250MM. The Commercial Banker isexpected to originate and manage commercial loans such as working capital linesof credit, owner-occupied real estate loans, equipment loans, and loans to keyprincipals of the business. In addition to lending, the banker will developdepository and treasury management relationships to ensure a comprehensivebanking partnership. Strong credit and underwriting expertise are essential,along with maintaining a consistent business development effort. Presentationsto Senior Officers' Loan Committee and Directors' Loan Review Committeeregarding the creditworthiness of loan applications are key components of thisrole.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops and manages a portfolio of commercial loans by proactively engaging in business development activities to acquire new clients and grow relationships with existing customers.
  • Conducting client interviews to gather financial and credit information, assessing client needs and risk, and preparing necessary documentation such as financial and operating statements.
  • Ensuring thorough financial analysis and credit evaluation in alignment with the bank's policies and guidelines.
  • Presenting loan applications and credit recommendations to internal committees for approval.
  • Overseeing loan documentation and ongoing account management, including construction site inspections and approving draw requests.
  • Monitoring financial covenants and borrowing base reports, ensuring compliance with loan terms.
  • Collaborates with clients to identify cross-sell opportunities, including depository and treasury services, to enhance the full banking relationship.
  • Ensures ongoing monitoring of loan portfolios to guarantee conformity with the terms and identify potential risk factors or changes in borrower financial conditions.
  • Ensures loans meet all regulatory requirements and maintains up-to-date knowledge of business and economic trends that may impact the bank's loan portfolio.
  • Represents the bank in community and professional organizations, enhancing the bank's presence and fostering business relationships.
  • Maintains the integrity of the customer experience, adhering to the bank's mission, vision, and values in every interaction.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested by senior management.
  • This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.


Experience & Education:
  • 10+ years of Commercial Banking experience, including significant business development efforts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit analysis and underwriting, with a proven ability to structure and negotiate complex loan transactions.
  • Formal Sales and Credit Training is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field is required; an MBA or a graduate degree in a related discipline is preferred.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong credit analysis and financial statement interpretation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial lending products, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with bank core systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Expertise in managing client relationships, with a proven ability to maintain and deepen banking relationships.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior management and credit committees.
  • Strong negotiation and structuring skills for complex transactions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to commercial lending, with an ability to ensure compliance.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of economic and market trends impacting clients and the banking sector.

Other Requirements:
  • Meet and maintain financial responsibility, character and general fitness standards along with all other established requirements for an individual Loan Originator (LO) in accordance with Regulation Z.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
