Qualifications

  • Expertise in high acuity inpatient accounts and various outpatient coding types.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in coding high acuity inpatient accounts.
  • Code technical outpatient accounts, such as Observation and Radiation Oncology.
  • Ensure timely billing to support Revenue Cycle goals.
  • Accurately code for Chemotherapy Infusion and Cardiac Cath/Electrophysiology procedures.
  • Engage in coding for Interventional Radiology and Surgery.

Short Description
  • Coder III demonstrates proficiency in coding high acuity inpatient accounts and/or coding of technical outpatient accounts including, but not limited to Observation, Radiation Oncology, Chemotherapy Infusion, Cardiac Cath/Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology and Surgery to support Revenue Cycle goals for timely billing.
Experience Required

3-5 years required

Inpatient coding preferred

Education Requirements

High School Diploma/GED

License/Certification Requirements

One or more of the following required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CCA, CCC, CIRCC, CCVTC and/or any of the Core Credentials or specialty credential of AAPC or AHIMA
