Full Job Description
The Primary Care co-medical director is responsible for providing both administrative oversight and direct primary care. In coordination with the Pediatrics OBGYN, Dental and Behavioral Health Clinical Directors, the co-medical director will be responsible and accountable for all clinical, administrative, and performance improvement activities in the above practices, and provide administrative oversight.

The candidate will report to the CMO and:

  • Work with the CMO to assess grant opportunities for Health Services and Behavioral Health, and assist with grant writing
  • Collaborate in the oversight of grant evaluation and data analysis as required by funded proposals, and specifically, oversee HRSA and private foundation grant planning and deliverables as described above.
  • Co-lead writing HRSA 330 grant applications (BPR) annually for both competitive and non-competitive RFRs as well as for supplemental funding as appropriate when RFRs are released
  • Co-lead PCMH applications for the health center
  • Supervise and work with the clinical directors as described above.
  • Assume oversight and support for hiring of all providers and nurses in the departments described above.
  • Work with credentialing staff to ensure that all providers are accommodated in a timely way.


In the role as Provider, co-medical director will:

  • Work 6 administrative sessions and 4 clinical sessions.
  • Participate in and responsible for the maintenance of 24 hour on call service.
  • Work with the clinical directors around utilization and budgetary planning and accountability;
  • Provide oversight and leadership around all Practice Transformation activities as Dimock develops optimal value-based care protocols and systems;
  • Administrative time will include, but is not limited to the following:


o Project oversight

o Clinic administration (recruitment of staff, clinic schedules, call schedules

  • Joint Commission and HRSA site visit -quality improvement planning and oversight


o Performance Review

o Special projects/professional development

o Timesheets

o Disciplinary issues

The candidate will have a MD or NP/PA, an unrestricted license to practice in MA, a valid DEA license and Mass Controlled substances registration, and CPR certification. The candidate will have at least 5 years experience as a primary care clinical practitioner in a Federally Qualified Health Center, and at least two years experience managing a clinical team, including clinical operations oversight. Leadership training and additional management training such as a MBA or fellowship training preferred.
