Full Job Description
We have an opening for a Government Network Operations Center (GNOC)/Contractor Network Operations Center (CNOC) Tier II Incident Management Technician to provide support for the customer's computer data communications systems. This role involves contributing to the design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks, planning and implementing upgrades, and analyzing and organizing hardware and software solutions through network modeling. The work schedule is 7x24x365.

JOB DUTIES:

Support the installation and maintenance of the client Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) devices. Respond to and resolve incident tickets.

Assist Tier 3 network engineers with incident management and projects, including site surveys and coordination and installation of new equipment.

Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring accurate asset management records, and maintaining inventory.

Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs)).

Participate in the evaluation of new network technologies and provide recommendations to the network architecture team regarding their integration into the existing network. Ensure plans for hardware and communications are adequate. Develop and implement methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.

Utilize various network tools to quickly identify and isolate customer-impacting events on the network.

Communicate and troubleshoot with vendors and other service providers to efficiently resolve incidents.

Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.

Support operations and maintain activities, administering networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 10 years of related/relevant work experience, which can be a combination of work history and education (Master's with 4 years, Bachelor's with 6 years, Associates with 8 years, or High School with 10 years).

Must comply with DoD 8570 IAT Level 2.

Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI, with CI Poly.

Knowledge of Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, Brocade, and Foundry Operating System (OS).

Layer 1, 2, and 3 network experience.

Familiarity (does not need to be an SME) with Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Label-switched Path (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE).

Familiarity with Microsoft Visio and ServiceNow.
