CNC PROGRAMMER (STARLINK) - 2ND SHIFTThe CNC Programmer role here at SpaceX is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations. This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinists, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimize machining programs and procedures. Machine operation, tool and material ordering are all part of this job as well, with a primary focus on programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Use of NX or MasterCam CAD/CAM/CAE program to program CNC parts
- Vericut NC files as well as maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets
- Cut tools and adjust speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life
- Make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability
- Keep products moving and alerting management when production is inhibited
- Provide consistent ideas for process improvements
- Mentor motivated machinists with programming knowledge
- Machine parts occasionally to assist the shop floor when machining is backlogged
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of CNC programming experience using NX or MasterCam software
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:- 5+ years of CNC programming experience using NX or MasterCam software
- Experience with programming and operating multi axis mill and lathe CNC machines
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:- Must be available for 10-hour shifts, estimated shift time: 3:00PM to 1:00AM
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
- Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay range:
CNC Programmer/Level 1: $34.00 - $40.00/hour
CNC Programmer/Level 2: $38.00 - $45.00/hour
CNC Programmer/Level 3: $42.00 - $51.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
