Job Purpose
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs to meet established standards of quality, productivity, and delivery within the assigned work cell.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and CNC lathes
- Take full responsibility for CNC programming and process execution for assigned parts and equipment
- Improve manufacturing processes through tooling recommendations, fixture design, and cycle time optimization
- Collaborate with machinists, operators, and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and accurate production
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and maintain high standards on repeat production work
- Ensure all programs and processes meet quality requirements, including GD&T standards
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput
- Maintain accurate documentation including work instructions and program revisions
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of CNC programming experience (mills and/or lathes)
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Experience with multi-axis machining (3, 4, and/or 5-axis)
- Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar) preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and continuous improvement
Compensation
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience
