The Opportunity As the CNC Machining Production Manager, you will lead the heartbeat of our Newark plant. This role is responsible for leading all production activities within our high-precision and large-format machining areas. From managing vacuum chamber machining to assembling precision mechanisms, you will ensure our production goals align with the rigorous quality standards required by our semiconductor, aerospace, and defense customers.
We are looking for a production leader who can balance manpower, machine capacity, and technical complexity to deliver high precision machined120 inches (3-meter) components on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Execution - Direct the day-to-day operations of the CNC machining floor to meet production schedules, quality targets, and cost objectives.
- Regularly monitor resource capacity and manpower requirements to ensure alignment with customer delivery commitments.
- Support the transition of New Product Introductions (NPI) from the engineering phase into sustained, high-efficiency production.
- Monitor machine health and oversee Scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime and maximize utilization.
Process Excellence & Quality - Drive continues improvements in efficiency, yield, and cost reduction using Six Sigma tools and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a culture of "Safety First," with the authority to halt production to address quality or safety concerns.
- Implement and maintain 5S standards to ensure a world-class, organized, and clean manufacturing environment.
- Provide operational support for the manufacture of complex final assemblies and assist in materials evaluation and testing.
Team Development & Management - Responsible for staffing decisions, performance evaluations, and the professional development of the production team.
- Identify and mentor high-potential team members to ensure long-term organizational stability and effective succession.
- Serve as the primary bridge between the shop floor and senior leadership, escalating technical or logistical issues effectively.
Requirements - Experience: Minimum 8 years of factory experience in a technical manufacturing environment, with at least 8 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical leadership experience.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of CNC machining, complex test processes, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment difficulties.
- Operational Skills: Strong track record in capital investment planning, budget administration, and time management.
- Physical & Environmental: Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating a large-scale production floor.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills; ability to influence others and gain acceptance in high-pressure situations.
This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent residentSalary Range(annual): $120,000 - $180,000 . Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
