OverviewDecisionPointseeks a Cloud/System Engineer to support hosting infrastructure, uptime management, web security controls, and operational reliability for an enterprise Content Management System in a federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role manages cloud and server infrastructure, load balancing, monitoring, log analysis, vulnerability remediation, and backup and recovery operations to ensure a stable, secure, and high-performing CMS platform.
The Cloud/System Engineer ensures that hosting environments meet operational requirements,comply withsecurity standards, support integration needs, andmaintainresiliency across all system tiers.
This position is fully remote.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Cloud/System Engineer will:
- Manage CMS hosting environments, including cloud-based infrastructure, servers, application services, and system dependencies.
- Maintain uptime, performance, and reliability through system tuning, monitoring, and proactive management.
- Configure and manage load balancers, CDN settings, network routing, and web delivery optimization.
- Implement and enforce security compliance requirements including patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor logs, alerts, and dashboards toidentifysystem issues and support incidentresponse.
- Manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity andrestorationreadiness.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, development, and operations teams tovalidateenvironment readiness for releases.
- Support automation of operational tasks including monitoring, deployment, and configuration.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Assistwith capacity planning, scalability assessments, and cloud resource optimization.
- Troubleshoot hosting issues, root causes, and infrastructure-level failures.
- Participate in environment reviews, sprint planning, and technical coordination with PMO and mission stakeholders.
Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation.
Education (Required)
Bachelor27s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cloud Computing, IT Infrastructure, ora relatedfield.
Experience (Required)
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing cloud or system infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting web hosting environments, application servers, or CMS platform infrastructure.
- Experience implementing security controls, patching, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with system monitoring, log analysis, and uptime management.
- Experience supporting load balancing, performance tuning, and recovery operations.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
- Proficiencywith AWS cloud services or similar cloud environments.
- Knowledge of web servers, application servers, load balancers, and content delivery configurations.
- Understanding ofnetwork security principles, hardening techniques, and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with log monitoring tools and performance analytics platforms.
- Experience with backup and recovery systems, disaster recovery planning, and resilience engineering.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation tools, or CI/CD integration.
- Knowledge of containerization or orchestration technologies.
- Experience supporting CMS hosting architectures, caching layers, or search indexing services.
Certifications
Required:
- AWS CertifiedSysOpsAdministrator or AWS Administrator certification
Preferred:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- Additionalcloud or infrastructure certifications
