 We Are Hiring – Cloud Operations Manager (AWS/Azure)!

 

Join our team and help support a critical federal mission by leading cloud operations across secure AWS and Azure environments.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Manager to lead teams responsible for the operations, maintenance, monitoring, and support of enterprise cloud platforms. This role will serve as a key leader on a large federal program, ensuring platform reliability, security, compliance, and exceptional customer service. Position can be remote, but living in the MD/DC area is a plus for customer interface and collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage cloud operations teams supporting AWS and Azure environments.
  • Ensure platform availability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Develop and enforce operational standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversee monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and customer interface for cloud operations.
  • Partner with customers and technical teams to deliver reliable services and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security and regulatory requirements, including NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, vulnerability management, audits, and POA&M remediation.
  • Track and report operational KPIs, SLA performance, and service metrics.
  • Support change management, maintenance activities, and system upgrades.
  • Drive automation, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain system and operational documentation.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience leading cloud operations or infrastructure support teams.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience with automation and DevOps tools such as Azure Automation, AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Jenkins, Git, PowerShell, Python, Bash, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, ServiceNow, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing 24x7 operations, incident response, and escalation processes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage enterprise-scale technical initiatives, and collaborate across technical and customer organizations.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Experience supporting federal government IT environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL-based service management, change management, incident management, and problem management.
  • Experience with cloud financial management, including consumption analysis, rightsizing, tagging, capacity planning, and forecasting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, decision-making, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing after-hours maintenance and incident response activities.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, ITIL Foundation, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or Security+.
Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
