Description

The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud infrastructure that powers our business operations and market systems. This role is primarily focused on AWS cloud engineering and Windows systems administration, with some responsibility for enterprise networking.

The ideal candidate has experience managing cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, strengthening security, and supporting highly available production environments. This position plays an important role in maintaining operational resilience and supporting compliance with Regulation SCI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Manage cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security while troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues.
  • Partner with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Optimize cloud performance and costs through monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Develop automation using PowerShell or Python.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide operational support for production systems.
  • Document technical solutions, procedures, and architecture to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.


Requirements

  • Two to five years of experience supporting enterprise cloud, infrastructure, or network environments.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting AWS environments.
  • Experience with AWS services, Windows Server, Active Directory, VPN technologies, DNS, firewalls, and cloud monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and scripting using PowerShell or Python is preferred.
  • AWS certification is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and across technical teams.
