Job Description

Cloud FinOps Analyst II

We have an opportunity for a Cloud FinOps Analyst II to join our DevOps Cloud Governance (DCG) team in Burnaby, Canada, reporting to an Engineering Director. In this pivotal role, you will drive clarity and accountability around our multi-cloud spend across AWS, GCP, and Azure, turning raw billing data into actionable insights that help Infoblox grow efficiently. Collaborating closely with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Product teams, you will build financial models, optimize cloud commitments, and create executive-ready narratives that connect cloud investments to business value. You will also use modern analytics and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate analysis, detect anomalies, and scale self-service insights across the company.

Be a Contributor - What You'll Do

  • Monitor cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP using native billing consoles and CloudZero as the system of record for multi-cloud cost analytics; reconcile CSP-native views with consolidated reporting for a single source of truth
  • Analyze cloud invoices, usage reports, and CUR billing exports to explain variances, identify cost drivers, and validate invoice accuracy
  • Design and govern tagging and cost allocation frameworks so costs map cleanly to products, services, environments, and teams
  • Identify waste, over-provisioned capacity, and unallocated or untagged spend across infrastructure and SaaS, and partner with Engineering and SRE teams to drive remediation
  • Develop rightsizing recommendations for key services, quantifying savings and tradeoffs
  • Evaluate and recommend Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and CUDs using time-series analysis, scenario modeling, and driver-based forecasts to reduce on-demand spend
  • Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards for cloud spend trends, budget vs. actuals, unit economics, and realized savings using BI tools, advanced Excel, and AI-assisted visualization
  • Develop self-service reports and curated data sets so product and engineering teams can monitor their own spend, commitments, and KPIs
  • Track commitment utilization against contractual thresholds, flag utilization risks early, and propose course-correction options such as resizing or shifting workloads

Be Prepared - What You Bring

  • 6+ years experience in FP&A, FinOps, or similar analytical roles, including significant cloud financial management experience supporting large-scale cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing and consumption models (on-demand, reserved, Savings Plans, CUDs, support plans) for at least one major CSP
  • Hands-on experience with CSP-native cost tools (AWS Cost Explorer/CUR, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing/BigQuery exports)
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Python, SQL, or similar for data analysis, automation, and working with large billing data sets
  • Ability to design and operationalize cost allocation and tagging strategies, including showback models and unit-economics KPIs
  • Experience building executive and operational dashboards and turning complex technical and financial data into clear, narrative-driven stories
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques (time-series, driver-based models, sensitivity analysis) and experience partnering with Finance on budgets and plans
  • Ability to read and interpret commercial cloud agreements and pricing schedules and support Procurement and Legal on renewals and renegotiations
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude and advanced analytics tools for faster analysis, anomaly detection, and visualization, with a growth mindset toward new tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience; MBA as well as FinOps or cloud financial management certifications are a plus

Be Successful - Your Path

First 90 Days: Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals.

Six Months:
  • Own regular cloud spend reporting cadences for Engineering and Finance, including monthly dashboards, variance analyses, and narrative readouts to DevOps Cloud Governance
  • Deliver an updated tagging and cost allocation framework that improves attribution coverage and reduces unallocated spend
  • Propose and help execute at least one major commitment optimization or rightsizing initiative with clearly measured savings versus plan
  • Implement automated data pipelines and/or AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual effort in cost analysis and are documented for reuse

One Year:
  • Be recognized as a key FinOps partner across Engineering and Finance, engaged early in roadmap, architecture, and contract discussions to shape cost-efficient choices
  • Maintain a robust, driver-based cloud spend forecast aligned with finance budgets over a multi-year horizon, with clear insight into variance drivers and risk scenarios
  • Show measurable improvements in cloud unit economics and overall COGS efficiency, backed by a portfolio of initiatives and realized savings
  • Establish a self-service FinOps analytics experience (dashboards, curated datasets, playbooks) that reduces ad hoc data requests and increases data-driven decision-making
  • Help advance Infoblox's Cloud Financial Management maturity through policies, runbooks, and training that embed cost awareness into design, delivery, and operations

Belong- Your Community

Our culture thrives on inclusion, rewarding the bold ideas, curiosity, and creativity that move us forward. In a community where every voice counts, continuous learning is the norm. So, whether you code, create, sell, or care for customers, you'll grow and belong here.

  • Charitable Giving Program supported by Company Match
  • We practice pay transparency and reward performance. Offers reflect role location, internal equity, experience, skills, education, and certifications. Base salary for this position: $82,400 - $121,440 plus corporate bonus.
