GDIT is looking foraCloud DevOpsTeam Leadto join ourNational Institutes of Health (NIH)CIT Hosting and Storage ServicesProgram.

We are seeking a forward-thinking technical leader who can inspire and develop teams while ensuring thedelivery of secure, reliable, and innovative cloud services and solutions. Our ideal candidate combines strong people leadership withcloud engineering and DevOpsexpertise, supported by experience designing, automating, and delivering solutions across AWS and Azure. This leader will provide clear direction and accountability for day-to-day operations, Agile execution, and project activities, while applying their technical understanding to guide architecture, engineering decisions, and complex customer solutions.They will foster a culture of collaboration,automation, continuous improvement, and innovation; empower team members to grow and succeed; and work closely with customersto understand their demands and guide their cloud adoption and modernization journeys. The successful candidate willbalance standardization with flexibility, driving reusable cloud services while enabling tailored solutions when customer requirements demand them.

Location:Remote working candidates will be considered, however the preference is for candidates to go onsite to Bethesda, MD 3 days out of the week. If you're within 60 miles of 'customer site', we would look for you to go onsite, as needed.

This role will require you to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility.This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day oversight for your team by delegating and prioritizing task execution, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring execution is efficient andtimelyfor the delivery of allclouddevopsservices.

  • In partnership with federal and program leadership,be a subject matter expert andoversee your team9s service catalog; to includeidentifyingcustomerdemands, owning and developing the technical strategy andvision, and rallying your team to turn the vision into reality.

  • Work closely with Project Managers/Scrum Masters to ensure transparent communications on project timelines, project execution, resource requirements, risk management, and status reporting.Occasionally step into project manager roleyou9reyour team9sstrategic projects based on need.

  • Drive innovation and incorporatecontinuous improvementactivities into your team9s execution to deliver new services and new ways of working to keep pace with futurecustomerdemands.

  • Oversee personnel management including staff recruitment, hiring, performance management, training, and mentoring for all team members.

  • Provide oversight for incidents, coordinating with resolution parties andestablishingeffective communication between stakeholders during and after closure of the incident to include after-action reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA and10+ years of experience, or equivalent experience, in an IT-related discipline.

  • Experience overseeing a portfolio ofcloudortechnology services and leading a technical team9s day-to-day execution, includingengineering, service delivery, Agile development, and project activities.

  • People management experience, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, professional development, training, and mentoring a team of engineers.

  • Experience leadingcloud engineering, DevOps, modernization, or other complex technicalinitiatives from planning through successful delivery.

RequiredSkillsets and Experience:

  • Broad hands-on experience and technical knowledgewith AWS and/or Azure, including cloud compute, database, storage, networking, identity, security, and related platform services.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and automation using technologies such as Terraform and Ansible, with source code and configuration managed through Git-based development practices and platforms such as GitHub.

  • Experience leading a team that develops standardized, reusable cloud services, patterns, and automation that enables consistent and efficient delivery while accommodating unique customer requirements whenappropriate.

  • Experience modernizinga team9stechnology services and delivery practices to improve efficiency, accelerate delivery, enhance customer experience, and reduce manual effort through standardization, automation, and emerging technologies such as AI.

  • Experience applying Agile and project management practices to manage priorities and backlogs,facilitateScrum or similar delivery processes, and drive technical initiatives through completion.

  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles and practices, including incident, problem, service request, change, and service level management.

  • Ability to analyze complexcloud architecture and engineering challenges,providetechnical guidance,and leadengineers and customersthroughsolution design andproblem resolution.

  • Strong customer and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability tocommunicate cloud strategies, architectures, technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations toboth technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RelevantAWS, Microsoft Azure,Terraform,Agile, or project managementcertifications.

  • Experience supportingcloudservices within a federal government, healthcare, or similarly regulated environment.

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
