TITLE: Cloud Engineer I

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Cloud Engineer I is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services to support the company's global software solutions. This role leverages advanced technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration to solve complex cloud engineering challenges. The position plays a key role in shaping cloud practices and driving technical excellence across teams and projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.


  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.


  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments (e.g., IAM, encryption, key management).


  • Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot distributed applications.


  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.


  • Understanding cost management and optimization strategies in cloud environments.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.


  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps roles.


PREFERRED:

  • Master's degree in a related field.


  • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.


  • Experience in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:

  • Advanced knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash


  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments (e.g., IAM, encryption, key management).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure components (compute, storage, networking basics, Key Vault, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, Cosmos DB etc).
  • Experience with deployment/release tooling - Octopus Deploy or similar.
  • Solid working knowledge with the ability to write and run SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar).


  • Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot distributed applications.


  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.


  • Understanding of cost management and optimization strategies in cloud environments.

  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.


Actual compensation for this role is determined based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location, where permitted by law.

For reference, the expected salary range for this position is generally positioned as follows based on candidate location:
  • 105,000 - 150,000: Candidates living in the Boston, New York City-Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC metropolitan areas
  • 100,100 - 143,000: Candidates living in Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, or in Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, or Vermont
  • 95,100 - 135,900: Candidates living in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oregon, or Wisconsin
  • 84,200 - 131,600: For all other U.S. locations


This position is also eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.

Final compensation will be determined based on the factors outlined above and in accordance with applicable law.
