Job Summary
The Cloud Data Engineer will design, implement, deploy, and support enterprise cloud platform solutions with a focus on AWS, Python, Snowflake, data engineering, security, and cloud operations. The role requires strong technical expertise across the cloud platform lifecycle, including development, production support, troubleshooting, automation, security, system analysis, and performance optimization. The engineer will also provide technical guidance and mentorship while collaborating with business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and implement new technologies and major releases for critical enterprise-wide cloud platform projects.
• Design, implement, and deploy cloud computing solutions that support business requirements.
• Identify and implement opportunities for platform improvement, performance optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Provide expert-level technical support and ensure reliable operation of cloud production environments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex cloud computing issues across multiple platforms.
• Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms.
• Develop technical standards and evaluate technology products and solutions.
• Review and optimize configuration parameters to improve system performance and maximize availability.
• Promote code through development, test, and production environments according to established schedules.
• Provide post-deployment production support and participate in change control processes.
• Document technical changes, implementations, and operational procedures.
• Understand business requirements and determine appropriate technical solutions and tools.
• Train and mentor junior team members on relevant technologies and processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated by other team members.
• Provide technical guidance and consultation to project and operational teams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and assigned deliverables.
• Perform systems analysis, including requirements analysis, definition, and logical design.
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of related professional experience.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Snowflake and Snowflake Data Sharing.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, including AWS Lambda using Python/Boto3.
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Experience with AWS IAM, S3, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
• Strong Python development and scripting experience.
• Strong experience with Boto3.
• Knowledge of JSON.
• Experience supporting cloud platforms throughout the development, testing, deployment, and production lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and identity management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and persistence in analyzing and resolving complex technical issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding technical issues.
• Strong self-motivation and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Bamboo deployment plans.
• Experience with Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of AWS EC2, Route 53, SNS, and VPC.
• Experience with Snowflake in a senior Cloud Engineering or Cloud Data Engineering environment.
• Experience with enterprise cloud platform operations, automation, and lifecycle management.
