Department: Behavioral Health & Wellness

Program: School-Based Skill Building

Status: Full-time, exempt

Salary: $100,000 (Licensed therapists with LMFT, LMSW, LCSW or LPCC)

$75,000 (Licensed-eligible therapist with AMFT. ASW, APCC, or ACSW)

Location: San Ysidro School District

Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Must be available to work until 7 p.m. two evenings per week to meet the various needs of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Program Director and Department Director, the Clinician is responsible for providing evidence-based social-emotional mental health prevention and early intervention services to Medi-Cal eligible students in grades 4 through 8 and their families. The Clinician provides a comprehensive range of therapeutic services for children and adolescents, including assessment, crisis intervention, case management, individual and family therapy, and linkage to community resources. Services are delivered in alignment with the agency's mission, goals, objectives, and service model, and within a collaborative team framework. Clinicians are expected to actively participate with team members in developing program goals and objectives and contribute to achieving those outcomes.

DUTIES:
  • Provide trauma-informed therapeutic services, including assessment, individual, family, and group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention to clients and their families in office, school-based, and community settings
  • Conduct client intakes, comprehensive assessments, and develop strengths-based treatment and service plans.
  • Provide psychoeducation and develop safety plans with clients and families as appropriate.
  • Facilitate coordination of care and maintain regular communication with other service providers, organizations, and support systems involved in the client's care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case documentation and client records in accordance with County and Agency standards, including electronic health records (EHR) within required databases.
  • Prepare and submit required monthly statistics and reports for County and Agency compliance.
  • Ensure client confidentiality and adhere to all agency, County, HIPAA, and mandated reporting requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, program meetings, individual supervision, and clinical group supervision.
  • Attend and participate in required agency trainings and professional development activities.
  • Maintain scheduling flexibility to meet client needs, including a minimum of one evening per week.
  • Meet established productivity expectations, including minimum weekly billing units and caseload requirements.
  • Assist with outreach efforts to engage and connect the target population with services.
  • Support the implementation of contractual and programmatic requirements.
  • Attend all agency required meetings and trainings
  • As other duties assigned.


Requirements

  • Master's degree with current BBS registration as an LMFT, LMSW, LPCC, LCSW, or AMFT. ASW, APCC, or ACSW.
  • Maintain an active BBS intern number or license.
  • Experience in the areas of individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in child, youth and family services field. Experience should preferably have been in a community based or neighborhood service organization.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy standards of program participants in accordance with agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws, including HIPAA.
  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Possess initiative, ability to set goals, and prioritize while being highly organized.
  • Experience working with CCBH/Cerner/SmartCare highly recommended.
  • Fluent Spanish speaker with the ability to read and write in Spanish, preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.

Conditions of Employment
  • Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring my fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program.
  • Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check. Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver's license and valid auto insurance policy. (Approximately 10% - 15% of the time.)

Physical demands:
  • Mentally and emotionally: Ability to work under deadlines, various projects and dealing with clients in crisis and difficult situations.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.
  • Moves throughout the building.
  • Moves, raises, or lowers (includes upward pulling) an object or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Transports an object, from 20 to 50 lbs. across the facility, for various needs.
  • Ability to exert force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force.

  • Ascending or descending stairs and ladders when applicable. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when ascending, descending, traversing.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with objects or office machinery.
  • Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas. Communicating is important for those activities in which workers must impart information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately, or quickly.
