Compensation: $81 645.2-$96 296.2 annually

What the Program Entails

The Complex Respiratory Care program is a community-based respiratory therapy outreach service that supports individuals with complex respiratory needs who are living in the community, as well as those transitioning from acute or sub-acute care settings back to community living. The program provides in-home respiratory assessment, education, training, and tracheostomy tube changes for medically stable individuals with tracheostomies or those requiring ventilator assistance. Our services are designed to support clients and their families in safely managing respiratory care at home and promoting successful community integration.

What You'll Do

The Clinical Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing clinical operations within the Complex Respiratory Care program, ensuring clinical excellence and maintaining high-functioning workflows. This position provides direct oversight of daily clinical activities, supports decision-making across the care continuum and ensures consistent, safe, and efficient service delivery in alignment with organizational standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.

The Clinical Team Lead will work closely with the Manager of Health Services and plays a key role in operational planning, coordinating and monitoring team activities, identifying learning needs, and providing coaching and mentorship to team members. The Clinical Team Lead will also support program development and implementation, while fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with community partner organizations to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

In addition, the Clinical Team Lead will fill the role of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), working with a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care to clients with complex respiratory needs across the Champlain region. This role requires a strong background in home mechanical ventilation and airway management. The RRT will be responsible for performing comprehensive respiratory assessments, providing education to clients and caregivers, and supporting staff within the circle of care.

  • 4 years' experience related to clinical field
  • 2 years of critical care experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge of acts or legislation that govern practice:
    • Registered Health Professionals Act (RHPA),
    • Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA),
    • Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS),
    • Infection, Prevention and Control Measures (IPAC)
  • Understanding of primary health care and the social determinants of health
  • Experience working with home mechanical ventilation in adult populations and familiarity with home mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway clearance techniques and strong airway management skills
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to liaise with external partners and advocate for clients
  • Ability to facility individual and group training sessions

• Your Education Path
  • Successful completion of a Diploma from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Current Active general certificate of registration with CRTO
  • Valid personal liability insurance
  • Current CPR Level C
  • Certified Respiratory Educator (preferred)

• Required Language
  • Bilingual, English and French, preferred
  • Other additional languages an asset

Your Day-to-Day at a Glance

As our Clinical Team Lead - Registered Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities are:

Clinical Leadership and Operational Oversight

  • Oversee and coordinate daily clinical operations and provide decision support to the Complex Respiratory Care team to ensure safe and efficient service delivery
  • Provider clinical leadership, coaching and mentorship to RRTs within the Complex Respiratory Care program
  • Ensure clinical documentation and charting align with Complex Respiratory Care program protocols and medical directives, as well as CRTO requirements
  • Support the Manager of Health Services with performance discussions, workflow planning and program development
  • Oversee orientation and training of new RRT hire and support ongoing professional development


Outreach Respiratory Therapy

  • Provide leadership in client-centered care by adhering to professional standards and applying current respiratory guidelines
  • Provide client and caregiver training through on-site education in various settings, including clients' homes, hospitals (assisting with discharge back into the community), and community agencies
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team to manage shared roster of complex respiratory patients
  • Operate within an enhanced scope of practice and apply RT-led protocols and medical directives to develop and optimize treatment plans for clients
  • Establish and maintain strong communication pathways between clients, physicians, specialists, hospitals, and other community partners
