Position SummaryThis Clinical Specialist I is an entry-level position within STERIS Procedural GI's Clinical team that focuses on new product efforts, which may include sourced, acquired or internally developed products. This individual will provide clinical expertise, support market research in the form of Voice of Customer and execute product evaluation activities for new products. The Clinical Specialist I will become familiar with the process of New Product Development, as well as for Third Party product introductions and contribute deliverables as required under FDA Design Controls or otherwise. Prototype validation testing with the use of simulated models is a key function of this role. This position is cross functional in nature and the individual must be able to work on teams with a variety of business functions, keeping patient safety and clinical outcomes at the forefront of many decisions.
Location: Greater Cleveland, OH area
Work model: Hybrid, this position will require time working in the Mentor, OH office. Typically 2-3 days onsite (Tue-Thu preferred)
Travel: Approximately 10-20% travel required
What You'll do as a Clinical Specialist- Collects Voice of Customer feedback from doctors and nurses within the GI Endoscopy field regarding existing and new product development projects. Voice of Customer can include feedback on prototypes, explanation of user needs relative to a particular device or procedure, competitive device preferences, etc. It can be gathered in person, virtually, through conferences, literature, etc. Presents the Voice of Customer collected and provides clinical and patient-centered input to assigned Cross Functional Team.
- Collaborates with multiple functional roles throughout the product development process, providing Clinical perspective and personal expertise in GI Endoscopy, until the product is released to the market for sale.
- Exhibits working knowledge of both the various product development processes and FDA Design Controls relevant to this role.
- Supports projects throughout the Stage Gate process by providing clinical input and deliverables (such as contributions to Risk Analysis (DFMEAs), development of Instructions for Use, contributions to Clinical Evaluation Reports and Literature Search Reports, Design Validation Plans, etc., as needed.
- Conducts verification testing on new products and competitive products.
- Supports Hands-On Workshops and Key Opinion Leader development initiatives to support commercial training and acceptance of products.
- Delivers Contact Hour presentations to provide CE credits.
- Reviews and contributes to marketing collateral (brochures, videos, quick reference guides, article summaries, etc.) for clinical accuracy.
- Provides general endoscopy support and education, as needed.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities NeededRequired- Bachelor's Degree required
- Registered Nurse with minimum of 5 years hands on GI endoscopy experience
- Ability to travel
Preferred- Hands on experience assisting in Therapeutic Endoscopy procedures
- Surgical or pulmonary experience is desireable

Pay range for this opportunity is $79,687.50 - $103,125.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
