Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of the clinical research team, including productivity and staffing schedules.
  • Lead the Talent Acquisition and performance management process for the research team.
  • Serve as a resource for the team, addressing operational barriers.
  • Build supportive relationships through regular interactions and check-ins.
  • Maintain adequate supply inventories and clinical supply areas.
  • Collaborate with various departments for smooth study transitions and starts.
  • Monitor the quality and safety of operations in the assigned area.
  • Develop and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for research operations teams.
  • Provide training and mentorship to cultivate team member growth.
  • Coordinate all activities related to clinical research protocols effectively.

Job Description:

  • Manages the delivery of safe care with regard for the dignity and respect of all patients/participants.
  • Supervises day-to-day activities of the clinical research team, including oversight of productivity and maintenance of personnel and staffing schedules.
  • Leads the Talent Acquisition process, team development, and performance management of research team members.
  • Serves as a service line expert and resource for the research team, addressing barriers during day-to-day operations.
  • Builds and maintains supportive relationships with each team member through regular rounding and scheduled connections.
  • Ensures teams maintain adequate inventory levels, order approved equipment and supplies, and maintain clinical supply areas.
  • Collaborates with operations manager, study intake, research services, and external partners to ensure timely start-up and smooth transition to assigned coordinator.
  • Monitors and evaluates the quality and safety of clinical operations within the assigned area.
  • Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures clinical research operations teams follow established processes and procedures.
  • Provides guidance, education, specialized training, and mentorship to promote growth for study team members.
  • Delivers effective and compliant clinical research study coordination, including planning, organizing, and managing all activities related to clinical research protocols.
  • Serves in a supportive role for the preceptorship of new team members, monitoring their progress and providing open communication to the Operational Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Field of Study:
  • in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field

Work Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical research [Required]
  • 5+ clinical research experience with increasing people management responsibilities [Preferred]

Additional Information:
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement.
  • Bachelors Degree AND 2+ years of experience in clinical research OR
  • Associates Degree AND 4+ years of experience in clinical research or related field.

Licenses and Certifications:
