Job Summary
Responsible for the management of multiple clinical research studies and the direct hiring and supervision of Clinical Research Coordinators. Serves as the key liaison with the sponsor, IRB, core laboratories, site P.I.'s, as well as all levels of study staff. Will also coordinate trial initiation, patient recruitment, and expedite project approval and study start-up time. Responsibilities also include participation in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for the projects, developing advertising strategies to support recruitment activities, oversee budget management and subcontracts with associated institutions.

-Supervises operations of all study staff.

-Writes operations manuals.

-Participates in the formulation of policies and procedures for the study.

-Prepares Case Report Forms.

-Coordinates multi-center trials with NIH, FDA and Private foundations.

-Reports study progress at investigators' meetings.

The Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Optimal Aging and Serious Illness (CASI) Research is seeking a highly organized and motivated Clinical Research Program/Project Manager (PM) to lead the day-to-day operations of multiple clinical research projects. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring successful execution of multiple small to medium-scale research studies and initiatives.

Ideal candidates must be self-starters who are highly motivated, exceptionally organized, and able to take ownership of complex work with limited supervision. They should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines, and a clear track record of driving projects forward to successful outcomes.

Candidates with prior clinical research experience are required. Candidates with prior experience with serious illness, supporting older adults and other vulnerable and minoritized populations, family caregivers and diverse groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Project(s) Oversight & Implementation
  • Drive overall project management, including timelines, budgets, milestones, and deliverables, with a strong commitment to excellence and accountability.
  • Coordinate site engagement across multiple health systems and clinical practices, proactively anticipating needs and removing barriers.
  • Lead team and stakeholder coordination
  • Facilitate clear, timely communication across multidisciplinary teams, including study leadership, site-based principal investigators, champions, clinicians, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support community outreach, study meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities with careful preparation and follow-through.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Research Coordinators to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables for clinical sites and funders.


Study Infrastructure & Data Coordination
  • Build and maintain project management systems for task tracking, documentation, and communication, under PD/PI oversight.
  • Develop streamlined processes with PI/PDs for recruitment, enrollment tracking, data collection, reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Track implementation facilitators, barriers, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and high-quality execution.


Reporting & Communication
  • Draft and coordinate progress reports, grant deliverables, and presentations that meet a high standard for accuracy and professionalism.
  • Advance dissemination efforts, including manuscript support, public-facing materials, and presentations.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hold a Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Services Research, or a related field.
  • Bring 5-7 years of relevant experience managing medium-scale research projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities, and consistently go above and beyond to deliver excellent results.
  • Communicate with exceptional organization, clarity, professionalism, and interpersonal skill.
  • Use research and project management tools, including Airtable, REDCap, Smartsheets, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.


Preferred Experience:
  • Apply experience with healthcare studies, education initiatives, and research or evaluation methods.
  • Engage multiple stakeholder advisory groups with professionalism, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Contribute experience in aging, chronic serious illnesses and health care delivery.
  • Possesses Spanish language fluency in reading and/or writing, which is highly desirable.
