Summary:

Oversees clinical pharmacy operations by establishing and maintaining clinical and regulatory standards, promoting evidence-based practice, and implementing quality measures/metrics. Manages performance and provides leadership to clinical staff.

Responsibilities:

Leads, develops and/or oversees the training of pharmacy personnel, residents, and pharmacy students. Facilitates, delegate resources, or provides education to multidisciplinary staff and supports implementation of departmental/system-wide initiatives.Develops and conducts an ongoing assessment of staff education and clinical competency to support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.Partners with the Director of Pharmacy to manage clinical operational initiatives. Collaborates with the pharmacy management team to recruit, hire, promote, and manage pharmacy personnel.Represents the pharmacy department and partners with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., nurses, physicians, etc.) to promote customer satisfaction and ensure positive interdepartmental relationships.Leads, delegates, and/or contributes to the review, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols to meet current pharmacy practice standards and alignment with state and federal regulations.Spearheads the planning, development and/or implementation of clinical pharmacy programs such as formulary reviews, medication use evaluations, process improvements, quality assessments, medication safety, cost containment strategies, and resource utilization.Participates in and/or allocates resources to research, publication, and educational opportunities for the clinical team to promote the pharmacy profession and MHS brand.Manages and/or oversees clinical staff participation in multidisciplinary committees to align with organizational goals.Conducts employee performance assessments for competency, staff satisfaction, standards of behavior, and compliance with departmental, institutional, and regulatory requirements.Oversees clinical pharmacy operations by establishing and maintaining clinical and regulatory standards, promoting evidence-based practice, and implementing quality measures/metrics.
