Qualifications

• Doctoral degree PharmD or equivalent from accredited pharmacy school required.
• 1-2 years direct patient care experience in a hospital setting required.
• PGY-1 residency preferred.
• Registered Pharmacist licensure in Maryland required.
• Board certification preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies through communication.
• Assess compounding feasibility or verify the compounding of products and suggest alternatives.
• Prepare IV admixtures and compounds sterile products, including hazardous agents.
• Independently respond to non-evaluative drug information requests.
• Monitor patient drug therapy to ensure optimal outcomes and manage adverse reactions under supervision.
• Review patient profiles for contraindications and verify appropriateness of drugs/dosages.
• Dispense controlled substances and maintain compliance with legal requirements.
• Provide technical supervision of support personnel and ensure accurate workflow.
