Clinical Outcomes Specialist

  • Department: Nursing Administration
  • Hours: 40.00 per week
  • Shift: Shift 1


The Clinical Outcomes Specialist (COS) is responsible for supporting patient care services to achieve high-quality clinical outcomes. The COS will drive evidence-based practices, improve processes through quality analysis, manage outcomes, enhance patient experience, and foster multidisciplinary collaboration to lead positive change. The role includes coordinating and supporting the systematic monitoring and evaluation of nursing quality indicators against national and internal benchmarks. In partnership with patient care services, quality, and leadership teams, the COS will anticipate and address potential patient risks, enhancing the professional practice environment at the organizational level. The COS will be a visible, integral part of patient care teams, coaching and mentoring staff to ensure adherence to and sustainability of outcome initiatives, while proactively managing high-risk patients. As a leadership team member, the COS will promote the value-based care model within nursing and across the continuum of patient care in alignment with Middlesex's strategic plan.

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting

  • MSN

Certification/Credentials:

  • Connecticut Registered Nurse License


Preferred Education:

  • MS Nursing Leadership, Clinical Nurse Leader or Nursing Education
