Full Job Description
Title: Clinical Nurse Advisor, Immunization
Salary: $97,833 - $122,817 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hrs./wk. 8:30-4:30 or TBD (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Alberni office - Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy).
Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About the role
The Immunization nurse advisor supports a team of public health, immunization focused nurses in delivering their immunization program throughout the province. This team is led by a clinical nurse specialist, along with nurse coordinators and advisors. Together the team works to establish and coordinate a number of Immunization programs, including capacity building, clinical support, ongoing education and Skills Checklist assessment for CHNs; provides training and supervision of programs for FNHA Regional Nurse Consultants, CHNs and Community Immunization Champions; supports in preparing and maintain nursing education plans.
The Immunization Nurse Advisor, provides direct, capacity-building immunization clinical, programmatic and educational support to Community Health Nurses (CHN) who provide direct services to First Nations People Living on-reserve in BC.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have;
Education
• Bachelor of Nursing with a community health component plus two (2) years of experience in Immunization programming and experience working with First Nations people, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Occupational Certification
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Experience
• (2) years of experience in Immunization programming and experience working with First Nations people
Knowledge
• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, navigate of regional relationships between FNHA, Regional health authority and First Nations Communities to support best practice in delivery of immunization services for community wellness.
• Knowledge of the cultural traditions and practices in client First Nations communities
• Knowledge of traditional, alternative, complementary, and other recognized healing practices.
