Full Job Description
Manages staff and the assigned work unit operations within a multi-laboratory Division. Maintains technical expertise by performing neurodiagnostic procedures on a regular basis. The supervisor covers an assignment if needed and must work collaboratively with the other CNP supervisors. The supervisor is also responsible for coordinating staffing within the work unit(s) to ensure that all patient studies are completed, duties are assigned and that tasks are completed each day. Monitors daily work processes to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction. Provides direction for day to day operations, facilitates a positive work environment and acts as a coach and mentor to the allied health staff within the work unit(s). The supervisor acts as the liaison between the physicians, technologists, clinical assistants, etc. within the work unit. The supervisor coordinates breaks, training, quality assurance tasks, staffing to work load, strategic planning activities and continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor monitors processes, supplies and staff. Communicates effectively with the work unit staff, patients and other medical center employees. Must be able to work independently and have demonstrated leadership, communication and problem solving skills. Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to implement and manage changes.
Qualifications
• A minimum of five years' experience in a Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Medicine Laboratory is required.
• Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to apply.
• Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire. To comply with ABRET accreditation standards, CNIM certification is required for IONM practice supervisors.
• Must have current certification in Basic Life Support.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities including excellent communication, human relation, and organizational skills. Must have broad base knowledge of computer functions supporting work unit operation. Demonstrated strong performance over the previous 2-3 performance evaluation cycles is also required.
• Bachelor's degree required or must be completed within two years of hire.
• Experience in supervision or management related functions are preferred.
