Full Job Description
As a Clinical Manager, you will play a critical role in launching and supporting firsthand's clinical model across WA/OH/MI markets. Your time will be split between providing oversight to clinical team members and delivering direct care as needed. Preferable to live in the market but not required.
The Clinical Manager will report to Clinical Delivery and work closely with the virtual/local clinicians, support leaders, as well as community leaders and teams to manage and improve performance and the quality of care provided by virtual and local health guides. This role will act as the clinical dyad partner to market operations colleagues to ensure productivity and quality of the clinical care delivered by Health Guides in collaboration with the firsthand Guides.
As Clinical Manger you will:
• Supervise and support a team of virtual and local nurse practitioners through chart reviews, 1:1s, and performance coaching.
• Oversee virtual and local health guides in reviewing charts and meeting 1:1 with each direct report on a regular basis
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to drive clinical quality, care coordination, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure strong execution of firsthand's clinical model services and operational goals
• Support a strong clinical and operations dyad partnership by meeting regularly with State Directors and Managers to lead, motivate,and inspire community teams
• Communicate and coordinate with community team leaders regarding Health Guide, Triage Nurse, and Psychiatric services
• Work closely with firsthand's Support team to develop and improve care delivery, clinical quality improvement processes, and outcomes that align with firsthand's clinical model and strategies
• Provide part-time direct clinical care as appropriate, based on direct reports, non-clinical responsibilities and needs of the market.
You will be a good fit if you have:
• Excellent clinical acumen in outpatient chronic disease and mental health care
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially in working collaboratively with clinicians, support leaders, and strategic partners
• Strong management and supervisory skills, including organizing and leading initiatives across multiple teams
• Empathy, compassion, and approachability
• Desire to help people in need and support their path to wellness
• Comfortable with conducting home/ community visits and doing assessments in the community if needed
• Comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and enjoy mixed roles and duties
• Cultural humility, knowledge of trauma informed care, and social determinants of health
• Desire to implement and deliver data-driven care that is integrated across chronic medical conditions, behavioral health conditions, inpatient settings, and outpatient settings
• Adapt rapidly to variations in team culture and process
• Ability to rapidly develop new professional working relationships with colleagues and patients
• Flexibility, and the willingness/ability to travel (25%)
The experience you bring to this role includes:
• Certified APRN in primary care
• Certified in psychiatric nursing on the RN or APRN level
• 5+ years clinical care in a primary or emergency care setting
• Prior clinical operational leadership experience, including directly supervising clinicians
• Working with and managing a population with challenges such as behavioral health and/or SUD conditions
• Working as part of an interprofessional or interdisciplinary team
• Developing and delivering educational programs to nurses and affiliated medical staff
Base salary range:
$160,000-$170,000 USD
