Clinical Laboratory Manager to oversee daily laboratory operations, lead a team of dedicated professionals, and ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality patient testing services.
About the RoleThe Clinical Laboratory Manager is responsible for managing laboratory operations, staff performance, regulatory compliance, quality assurance initiatives, and customer service. This leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the laboratory meets all clinical, operational, and financial objectives while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of a high-volume clinical laboratory.
- Lead, develop, and mentor laboratory supervisors, technologists, technicians, and lab assistants.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance programs.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and performance management.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and clients to ensure exceptional service.
- Manage laboratory budgets, inventory, and operational expenses.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of laboratory personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field required.
- ASCP certification required (MLS, MT, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Minimum 3 years of laboratory leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality systems, and accreditation standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in high-volume reference laboratory operations is a plus.
