Overview

Schedule: Full-time, 10-hour Alternative Work Schedule. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with variable Saturdays as needed.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Clinical Lab Scientist performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment. Communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff. Participate in administrative activities. Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for others. May provide functional supervision to support staff.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience Required:
  • Minimum 1 year of post-baccalaureate clinical training as a Clinical Lab Scientist in a clinical laboratory Or
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience as a CLS performing high complexity testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
For Clinical Lab Scientist with Limited California License:
  • Minimum 1 year of post-baccalaureate clinical training, OR
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in the specialty area related to the license.
Preferred:
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in the specialty or subspecialty areas of the clinical laboratory preferred.
  • ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist, or other specialty preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree meeting California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Laboratory Field Services academic requirements.
  • Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License


Pay Scale Information

$95,326.40-$127,088.00
