Job DescriptionThe simulation manager is responsible for the overall direction and assisting the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) Program Director in the coordination of the simulation curriculum.

Key Responsibilities- Ensuring that nurse anesthesia residents are evaluated in the simulation lab consistent with the principles of simulation education.
- Provides strategic direction for simulation curriculum and evaluation, simulation pedagogy, and purchasing of equipment
- Design and implement simulation scenarios tailored to anesthesia topics (e.g., airway crises, hemodynamic instability, regional anesthesia complications).
- Ensure simulation aligns with curriculum objectives and COA standards.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate simulations into didactic and clinical coursework.
- Maintain simulation equipment (manikins, task trainers, audiovisual systems).
- Oversee simulation space setup, safety, scheduling, and inventory.
- Ensure all equipment is functional, calibrated, and updated regularly.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited program of nurse anesthesia.
- At least 1 year of practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in administrative, clinical, and/or didactic activities.
- Maintain certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles and theory of anesthesia equipment, techniques, procedures.
- Demonstrate professional development by maintaining professional certification and membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.
