Position Highlights

  • Department: Clinical Engineering
  • Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Summary

  • The Clinical Engineering Service Coordinator will support and advance patient care by applying engineering skills to healthcare technology. This will be done through assisting the department in meeting the Health Systems needs, regulatory requirements, and best practices in service and deployment of medical equipment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Clinical Engineering Manager:

Service Coordination

  • Devises means and methods for improving staff efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Communicates work order statuses with end users and follows up on completed work.
  • Schedules equipment service for devices with limited access due to patient needs.


Device Evaluation and Implementation (Project Management)

  • Oversees equipment acquisition process, which can include evaluating and making recommendations on equipment requests.
  • Oversees equipment installation process, which can include scheduling with stakeholders.


Process Improvement and Investigations

  • Build and analyze metrics and reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manages investigations of clinical incidents involving medical devices.


Document

  • Meets performance indicators
  • Documents work orders, vendor service reports, time and expense reports, PM activities, and purchase orders.


Remain Current

  • Remains current with the latest technologies, code issues, regulatory issues, quality issues, and management strategies.
