Position SummaryThe Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation. This position is responsible for the facilitation of modifications to clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and coding staff to ensure that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of service rendered to all patients. This is a professional level position requiring organization and interpretation of information relating to a wide variety of policies, procedures and programs. This position also requires a clinical background, independence, and strong facilitation and analytical skills. This position requires regular significant contacts with other personnel throughout and outside the medical center.
Requirements- Bachelors degree in nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
- 5 years recent ER and/or critical care clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Utilization review and/or clinical documentation specialist experience preferred
Pay and Benefit ExpectationsWe provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $121,118.40 - $197,579.20 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
