Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an American Dietetics Association approved program with completion of an internship.
• Less than 1 year of clinical nutrition therapy experience, preferably in acute care from internship.
• DC Dietitian license (DIETDC) required.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
• Must apply for DC licensure if licensed in another state.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition management services including patient screening and nutrition care-planning.
• Coordinate patient nutritional care with medical and nursing staff at rounds/conferences.
• Monitor patient progress and make follow-up nutrition care recommendations.
• Counsel patients and families on diet and nutrition practices related to medical conditions.
• Document patient care activities in medical records for continuity of care.
• Participate in department operations and complete quality assurance reports.
• Assist in training new staff and hospitality assistants.
