We are looking for a
strategic, collaborative, and science-driven Clinical Development Physician (Director) to join our
Global Clinical Development team in our Raleigh, NC location.
About the role As a Clinical Development Physician, you will be accountable for the
medical integrity and strategic direction of clinical development programs. Acting as the medical expert for assigned assets, you will ensure the program reflects current scientific knowledge, clinical best practices, and evolving healthcare landscapes. You will play a critical leadership role in shaping development strategies, driving execution, and delivering high-quality clinical outcomes that support global patient access.
Who you'll work with You will collaborate with
cross-functional global teams, including clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory, and biometrics, as well as engage with
external stakeholders such as investigators, regulatory authorities, and key opinion leaders.
You may also lead clinical development teams or programs, contributing to both strategic leadership and operational execution.
What you'll do - Lead medical strategy and execution for clinical development programs
- Ensure scientific integrity across protocols, reports, and development plans
- Provide medical oversight, monitoring, and benefit-risk assessment
- Contribute to regulatory submissions and global health authority interactions
- Build and maintain relationships with investigators and external stakeholders
- Represent the organization at scientific forums and conferences
Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills Minimum Qualifications - Medical Degree (M.D.) with active licensure or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a clinical or academic setting (e.g., academic physician or investigator involved in clinical trials) or in medical affairs within the biopharmaceutical industry OR
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical development in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Qualifications - Advanced certification in pharmaceutical medicine
- Experience with regulators and health authorities
- Leadership in clinical development programs
- Strong knowledge of global clinical and regulatory requirements
- Ability to lead cross-functional, matrixed teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience collaborating with global and diverse teams
This position's reasonably anticipated salary range is $213,600 - $280,400 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
