OverviewThe Clinical Applications Analyst - Ambulatory provides advanced application support, system configuration, and ongoing optimization for Epic Ambulatory and related clinical systems. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME), partnering with clinical stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain solutions that support safe, efficient, and high-quality outpatient care delivery.
Job Overview- Support Epic Ambulatory applications and associated clinical workflows
- Serve as escalation support for complex incidents and system issues
- Translate operational needs into functional and technical solutions
- Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations
- Provide training and consultation to clinical and operational teams
- Promote continuous improvement of ambulatory systems and processes
What You Will Do- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated application issues reported through approved intake processes
- Configure, test, and maintain Epic Ambulatory build, including workflows, templates, reports, and tools
- Collaborate with providers, clinic leadership, and DTS teams to gather requirements and design solutions
- Participate in upgrades, optimizations, go-lives, and new project initiatives
- Develop documentation, testing scripts, and support materials
- Perform routine system maintenance and monitoring to ensure optimal performance
- Coordinate integration and data exchange points between Epic and other systems as needed
- Provide end-user training, education, and workflow guidance
- Serve as an SME and consultant to recommend improvements that maximize system value
- Follow change management and production support practices for all system updates
- Support cross-functional teams during critical events or implementations
What You Will Need- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5+ years of healthcare applications support or analyst experience preferred
- Experience supporting Epic Ambulatory or similar clinical systems strongly preferred
- Understanding of ambulatory clinic workflows and outpatient operations
- Experience with system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Epic certification or ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe preferred
