Position OverviewValitana is hiring a Software Engineer to build and deliver client-facing solutions on Vantage, one of our core platforms. In this role you will work directly with clients, product & project managers, and business stakeholders to translate real-world requirements into robust, production-ready implementations - from third-party data integrations and reporting through workflow configuration and platform enhancements. You will own technical delivery for new client onboardings end to end and serve as a technical partner to our Client Services team on day-to-day client requests.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and client delivery, and it is well suited to an engineer who enjoys solving concrete problems for identifiable users, is comfortable discussing data and workflows directly with clients, and wants to see their work reach production quickly.
Responsibilities- Build and deliver solutions for external clients, collaborating with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, maintainable implementations.
- Develop and maintain third-party data integrations, including parsers for ingesting client and vendor data.
- Build and configure client-facing reports and workflows within Vantage.
- Configure and support FIX Gateway connectivity for client trade flow.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues, tracing problems to their source and implementing durable fixes rather than one-off corrections.
- Contribute feature enhancements to core Vantage, so that solutions built for one client strengthen the platform for all clients.
- Serve as a technical resource to the Client Services team, taking ownership of business-as-usual client requests and reducing escalations to the broader development team.
- Document integrations, configurations, and resolutions so that onboarding knowledge is reusable across the team.
Qualifications- 0-3 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including work delivering solutions to external clients.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Ability to work through ambiguous requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Resourceful with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in the financial industry, particularly with structured finance products, trade flow, or portfolio data, is a plus.
What We OfferBase salary range for this role is $80,000 - 110,000. Valitana offers a competitive compensation package including base salary and an annual performance bonus. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday through Wednesday with the flexibility to work remotely Thursday and Friday.
