Job Description Summary

FanThreeSixty is looking for a Client Data Strategist to serve as the primary data expert in front of our clients and prospects. This role bridges the gap between what clients and prospective clients need from a data perspective and what our platform can deliver — engaging in sales conversations as the data subject-matter expert, guiding new clients through data onboarding, and owning data strategy conversations for our most strategic existing accounts.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Product & Data Strategy.

You'll work closely with Sales, Client Success, our Sales Engineer, and our Lead Data Product Manager, translating client needs and feedback into signals that shapes what we build next. This is a client-facing role for someone who's equally comfortable in a sales conversation, a technical onboarding discussion, and a roadmap conversation with Product — and who enjoys being the person who makes data feel less intimidating to the people on the other side of the table.

Job Description

What You'll Own

Pre-sale data expertise

Join sales conversations where a prospect's data questions go beyond what Sales can credibly answer; assess data feasibility early to flag onboarding risk before a deal closes rather than after.

Proposal & scoping support

Help shape the data-specific parts of proposals and statements of work, ensuring what's promised to a client is what can actually be delivered on the timeline sold. Works alongside the Sales Engineer, who owns demo staging, POC builds, and RFP/security-questionnaire technical responses — Client Data Strategist informs what gets demoed or proposed based on discovery findings, while Sales Engineer executes the technical build and response.

Client-facing onboarding ownership

Work directly with new clients to define their data landscape — what they have, what they want to send or receive, and how it maps to our platform — and translate that into requirements our technical teams can build against.

Strategic account data ownership

Personally own data strategy conversations for a defined tier of strategic existing accounts. Serve as the escalation point when a Client Success lead surfaces a signal — a maturity jump, expansion opportunity, or churn risk — that warrants direct involvement on a non-tier account.

Client Success enablement

Build and maintain a discovery playbook, and train and calibrate Client Success leads to run data-strategy discovery conversations independently for non-tier existing accounts. Review their debriefs periodically to maintain consistent quality.

Ongoing strategic reassessment

Periodically revisit each strategic account's data maturity and use cases, even absent a specific request, to proactively surface where their needs — and our recommendations — should evolve.

Voice-of-client feedback loop

Continuously surface patterns in client needs and pain points to the Lead Data Product Manager, turning recurring requests into structured input for roadmap prioritization.

Internal representation

Sit in on internal roadmap and prioritization conversations as the advocate for what clients actually need, not just what's been requested loudest.

What Success Looks Like

  • Sales and Client Success trust you as the go-to data expert in client conversations, at any stage of the relationship.
  • New clients have a smooth, well-scoped onboarding experience because data expectations were set accurately during the sales process.
  • Client Success leads confidently and consistently run discovery conversations for non-tier accounts using the shared playbook, with strategic-tier accounts receiving direct, high-quality attention.
  • When new-prospect discovery and existing-client conversations compete for time, new-prospect discovery is prioritized by default — except for the protected tier of strategic accounts, which are never deprioritized.
  • The Lead Data Product Manager has a clear, ongoing channel of client feedback that meaningfully shapes what gets prioritized.

What You Bring

  • Significant experience in sports, live entertainment, or a closely adjacent consumer/fan-data industry, with genuine credibility in front of clients in this space.
  • 4–6 years of client-facing experience in a data, analytics, or technical consulting capacity — whether in sales engineering, solutions consulting, customer success, or data strategy — with direct exposure to how data gets scoped, sold, and implemented for enterprise clients.
  • Comfort operating across the full client lifecycle — equally credible in a pre-sale conversation and a technical onboarding discussion.
  • Strong translation skills — able to take what a client says in their own terms and turn it into something technical teams can act on, and vice versa.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; you build trust quickly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and no fixed script — this role requires judgment about when to bring in engineering, when to manage expectations, and when to escalate.
  • A mindset oriented toward continuous improvement — for clients' data strategy and for our own — rather than treating any engagement or internal process as finished once it's working.
  • Experience or clear aptitude for training and coaching others — you'll be building a playbook and calibrating a team of Client Success leads, not just running your own conversations.

Nice to Have

  • Background in data onboarding, integrations, or technical implementation work.
  • Prior experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or customer success role at a SaaS company.

Travel

Some travel required for on-site client engagements, kickoffs, and industry events.
