What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking a highly motivated and driven Cyber Assurance Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor and provide technical leadership to a team of Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and Engineers (ISSEs), while delivering critical information assurance services that enable mission success. You will serve as an Alternate Information System Security Manager (A-ISSM) working in partnership with our primary ISSM to maintain system accreditations and oversee the information assurance program across a mix of locally managed and enterprise systems/networks, as well as standalone systems/LANs. The selected individual will also collaborate with external entities including the Department of Energy and Intelligence Community agencies.
On any given day, you may:
- Engage our information assurance partners to define system requirements.
- Collaborate with IT partners to integrate cybersecurity controls.
- Conduct periodic information system reviews to ensure compliance with system security plans.
- Provide cybersecurity risk assessments and recommendations to leadership.
- Analyze sponsor cybersecurity policies and align solutions accordingly.
- Develop and integrate cybersecurity controls into new/existing tools and infrastructures.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for cybersecurity risk management.
Must have the ability to travel for job-related training, work duties, and customer engagement as needed.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$102,400 - $199,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or relevant discipline plus two (2) or more years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- At least two (2) years of experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
- Experience working on a cybersecurity program for the U.S. Government or a Government Contract.
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or NIST 800-53 security controls.
- Experience working with continuous monitoring tools (i.e. Splunk, ACAS, Nessus, Security Center, HBSS).
- Proficiency in common operating systems, including Windows and Linux, with a solid understanding of their functionalities and management.
- Ability to obtain a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification within the first 6 months of employment.
- Active DOE Q clearance is required to start, plus the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI which may include a polygraph examination.

- Active Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
- Active SCI clearance.
About Our TeamThe FIE Cybersecurity Operations Department supports the Field Intelligence Element mission by delivering capabilities around information system hardening/accreditation, vulnerability assessment, risk management and analysis with a particular focus on mitigating cybersecurity threats. The cybersecurity staff, consisting of Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs), Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs), and Information Systems Security Engineers (ISSEs), provide effective technical solutions for DOE, DoD and the Intelligence Community.
