Full Job Description
General Purpose

Step into a role where your analytical mindset and sound judgment make a direct impact. In this position, you'll evaluate the company's financial exposure related to incidents involving our facilities or equipment, leading thorough investigations into injury and property damage claims. Responsibilities

  • Investigate damage to company property claims.
  • Handle collection of damage to property claims.
  • Investigate outage claims or disruption of power claims made against the company.
  • Assess damage claims brought forth by claimants.
  • Deny claims based on applicable tariffs or resolve property damage claims.
  • Assess liability claims brought against the company.
  • Evaluate damage to company property and gather information for billing.


Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience of claims research, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Investigative skills including conducting fact-finding, evaluation, and determination of cause of claim.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to present recommended solutions and negotiate settlements.
  • Ability to collect and analyze information related to accidents and make sound recommendations for their settlement.
  • Completion of computer literacy test, basic literacy test, and an excel and word basic test with a score of 80% or better.
  • Pass a typing test with 30 words per minute or better.
  • Strong decision-making skills as well as the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Pass AIC 300 within 6 months of being hired.
  • Travel may be required.
