Get to Know the Opportunity: The Leave & Disability Claims Manager oversees the administration and management of disability and leave claims within the Claims organization. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, providing exemplary customer service, and managing a team of claims professionals. The manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and global partners to ensure efficient and effective claims processing, while continuously striving to enhance processes and outcomes. This role involves strategic department and team planning, making decisions that may require deviating from normal guidelines, and aligning team goals with the broader Claim vision to ensure customer-centric claims management that enables Voya to excel in the Workplace market.
The Contributions You'll Make: - Administration & Management: Oversee the administration and management of disability and leave claims, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of claims professionals, offering guidance, support, and development planning to ensure high performance and maintain Voya culture.
- Decision-Making: Evaluate complex claims and situations, making informed decisions that require judgment and providing direction on disability and leave management claims.
- Customer Service: Deliver exemplary customer service to claimants, ensuring timely and accurate communication and resolution of claims.
- Process Development: Develop, implement, and adopt claims policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
- Partnership: Collaborate with global partners and internal stakeholders, including HR, legal, and operational teams, to align claims management with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to claims management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Facilitate regular audits and reviews of claims processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Continuous Improvement: Source opportunities for technology and process improvements from claims professionals to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement at the source.
- Resource Management: Manage demand and capacity to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Industry Awareness: Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations related to disability and leave claims.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience: - Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in disability claims management l
- Exceptional knowledge with leave related laws/regulations, FMLA; ADA; PFML, Paid Sick Leave, PWFA, and pregnancy related leaves.
- Strong background in disability management and industry best practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to influence key decision makers to drive process improvements and change management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and foster effective partnerships across the enterprise.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Claims Professional (CCP), or similar are highly desirable.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
