Job Summary:
The Claims Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end handling of collateral protection and physical damage claims filed by Kinetic Advantage's dealer partners. Your primary responsibilities include managing the claims lifecycle from first notice of loss through resolution, ensuring claims are processed accurately, fairly and in a timely manner. You will serve as the primary point of contact between Kinetic Advantage, our collateral protection insurance carrier, dealer partners, and third-party adjusters. In addition, you will analyze claims trends and loss data, supervise claims staff, and help develop and refine claims policies and procedures of strategic importance to the company. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong claims management expertise, phenomenal organizational and communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to ensure that our claims processes are highly accurate, timely and customer oriented.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Kinetic Advantage's products, policies and procedures relative to assigned areas
• Receive and review insurance policy documents from our dealer partners for compliance with Kinetic Advantage's collateral protection requirements
• Effectively communicate requirements regarding insurance and compliance with an inexperienced audience
• Ensure timely delivery of automated collateral protection enrollment notifications
• Oversee the full lifecycle of collateral protection and physical damage claims filed by Kinetic Advantage's dealer partners, from first notice of loss through final resolution
• Serve as the primary liaison between Kinetic Advantage, our collateral protection insurance carrier, third-party adjusters, and dealer partners regarding claims status and resolution
• Review claims documentation, insurance policies, and loss reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policy terms and company requirements
• Investigate and resolve escalated or disputed claims, including negotiating settlements with carriers, adjusters, and dealer partners as needed
• Supervise, train, and mentor claims staff, ensuring claims are handled consistently, accurately, and in accordance with company standards
• Develop, document, and maintain claims handling policies and procedures, updating them as regulations, products, or business needs change
• Manage relationships with third-party claims administrators, collateral protection insurance partners, and outside vendors
• Remarketing administrative support
• Assume full Collateral Audits operational responsibilities during scheduled PTO or absences of Collateral Audit Specialists.
• Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• 3+ years of experience in claims management, collateral protection insurance, or commercial auto insurance, preferably within the floorplan, automobile, or auction industry
• Prior experience supervising or leading a team preferred
• Familiarity with commercial automotive insurance, collateral protection insurance, and financial services industry concepts and terminology
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Bi-lingual Speaker preferred (not required)
• Strong knowledge of insurance claims processes, policy interpretation, and claims adjudication
• Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience supervising and developing staff
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and mitigate risk
• Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide range of individuals, both verbally and in writing
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously and prioritize workload
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Skilled at providing successful problem resolution and de-escalation with dealer partners and other stakeholders
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to communicate clearly
• Ability to operate computer and office equipment, maintain paper files, move about an office environment
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
