Full Job Description

**Position is eligible to work from home anywhere in the US**

Serves as a subject matter expert for the entire ceded reinsurance process within Claims.  Reviews all reinsurance claims completed by team members. Reviews monthly CEDED/CLMS/ClaimCenter generated reports.  Participates in department projects.  Serves as the primary contact for Claims Leadership and IT to set up access and authority for all Claims team members.  Reviews and processes ACH rejection notices for CLMS and ClaimCenter.  

Essential Functions:       

  • Leads and monitors the workload in the coding and closeout process, including reviewing all claims with newly established reserves and various data elements for accuracy and to align exposure to coverage.

  • Assigns reinsurance claims to team members to manage reporting and billing to our brokers.

  • Reviews and validates all reinsurance work completed by team members; collaborates to resolve errors and facilitates final reporting, updates, and submissions to the reinsurance broker.

  • Manages reinsurance inquiries by triaging, assigning, and tracking responses to ensure timely resolution and communication with brokers.

  • Participates in department and corporate projects.

  • Reviews and analyzes monthly ceded reinsurance reports (CLMS/ClaimCenter), ensuring accurate reporting of threshold, reserve, payment, and status changes.

  • Partners with IT to enhance and maintain ceded reinsurance reporting capabilities within claims systems and communicates data or reporting issues to leadership.

  • Serves as the primary contact for Claims access management; establishes, audits, and maintains appropriate system access and authority levels across platforms.

  • Performs and tracks annual access audits, ensuring alignment of system access with roles and governance requirements.

  • Reviews and processes ACH rejection notices; partners with adjusters to correct banking information, resolve issues, and monitor for recurring discrepancies.

  • Oversees maintenance and updates of claims forms within CLMS and ClaimCenter, including coordinating changes, testing functionality, and validating deployment.

  • Provides training and guidance to team members on ceded reinsurance processes, reporting requirements, and system usage.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in insurance, finance, accounting, business administration or related field or equivalent relevant experience

  • Five years of experience with claims, accounting, or data reporting or related experience

  • Insurance industry experience or certifications (e.g. INS, AIC, CPCU) preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and claims philosophy, procedures and terminology

  • Excellent knowledge of claims data reporting

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing deadlines

  • Excellent research and analytical skills

The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following:

$72,726 - $99,800 or $79,834 - $109,786

A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
