The Opportunity

If you have senior-level experience in claims analytics, business intelligence, and turning complex data into clear business recommendations, we would love to hear from you.

Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Claims Analytics Specialist to work from our Toronto office and help advance data-driven decision-making across Claims through high-quality analytics, reporting, and insights.

You will partner with Claims leaders and business stakeholders to understand priorities, identify trends and opportunities, and translate complex data into practical recommendations. You will use modern analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, DAX, Python, and Databricks to build scalable reporting solutions, improve insight generation, and design predictive models that help address claims-related issues such as severity trends, leakage, cycle time, operational performance, and portfolio risk.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior analytics professional to influence how Claims uses data, strengthen decision support, and contribute to a collaborative environment where your expertise and perspective matter. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligence-enabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process, including the initial review and screening of applications. Artificial intelligence is not the sole basis for candidate shortlisting or selection. All hiring decisions are reviewed and made by qualified hiring professionals.

Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence, which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements.

What you will do
• Lead the development of claims analytics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support operational performance, portfolio insights, and strategic decision-making.
• Partner with Claims leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business challenges, define analytical requirements, and translate needs into scalable data solutions.
• Design and develop predictive models and analytical approaches that help tackle claims-related issues, including severity, frequency, leakage, cycle time, triage, reserving indicators, and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and performance reporting using strong data modelling practices and DAX.
• Extract, transform, validate, and analyze large claims datasets from multiple sources.
• Apply Python and Databricks to support advanced analytics, automation, data preparation, predictive modelling, and repeatable analytical workflows.
• Identify claims trends, anomalies, root causes, and improvement opportunities, then communicate findings through clear recommendations and business narratives.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across claims reporting and analytics deliverables.
• Act as a senior analytics partner by advising stakeholders on measures, assumptions, methodology, and interpretation of results.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending opportunities to automate reporting, streamline processes, and strengthen analytics practices across the Claims function.
• Contribute to team goals, mentor less experienced team members where appropriate, and help build a collaborative, high-performing claims analytics capability.
