Full Job Description
DUTIES:

Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include the ability to perform the following: Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI); dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history); development of in-structure seismic response spectra, and to evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration).
Engineering services will be provided using SRMC processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRMC.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Experience /Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes. Candidate must demonstrate a sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349). Candidate must have the ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/l0s (10

ours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRMC holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not required.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
