Job Description:

Civil Roadway Engineer I - Transportation Infrastructure - Corona, California ( hybrid remote work allowed)

Overview:

Parsons has an exciting job opportunity for a Civil Roadway Engineer I to join the growing transportation infrastructure team at our Corona, California office.

In this role, you will be engaged in design engineering work and contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects in the Inland Empire area and Southern California region. The engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices while gaining exposure to company and industry procedures. You will be part of a team which primarily supports Caltrans projects and works on various projects with the regional transportation planning agencies, counties, cities, and transit agencies.

The position is office based but offers a hybrid work model (2 days working from home).

Responsibilities:
• Utilizing a foundation of gained experience , will perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
• Utilize drafting and 3D modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs. Proficient design work with MicroStation and/ or Autocad Civil 3D

Perform basic geometric alignments and design for various road and highway projects, inclusive of ramp ways and interchanges.
• Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
• Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects.
• Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
• Assist in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.
• Provide input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• 3 years or more of related work experience supporting any state DOT

highway projects

Experience with Caltrans projects in the State of California is desirable, but not required
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred

Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation and InRoads, is preferred.
• The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team.

This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.

Salary Range: $63,600.00 - $111,300.00
