Full Job Description
Civil Project Manager to join our Newburgh, NY office. The candidate will be offered tremendous management and growth opportunities, overseeing a wide range of private and commercial construction focused planning, K-12 and site development projects. Project assignments will include all aspects of site development, such as site layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, roadway/parking design, and overall land development planning for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a design team from concept design through construction document development, including the production of drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports for permit agency approval, bidding, and construction.
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and planners to plan, design, and oversee construction of a variety of capital improvement projects.
  • Act as the client's representative, coordinating and leading meetings with governing agencies for small- and large-scale projects, including conducting pre--bid, bid openings, pre-construction, construction progress, final inspection, and project closeout meetings.
  • Coordinate the project bid process, including preparation of bid tabulations and award recommendation letters.
  • Provide construction administration services, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing pay applications, and managing construction observation and materials testing team members.
  • Prepare scope and fee proposals, negotiate contracts with clients, prepare project work plans, monitor project schedules, prepare monthly invoices, and track project budgets and team performance.
  • Provide clear communication with internal and external team members, clients, and governing authorities.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or a Civil-related field.
  • PE required.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in site development and/or planning, design, permitting, and construction.
  • Privat and commercial construction experience is desirable
  • Well versed in technical specifications, contract documents, and construction cost estimates.
  • Ability to coordinate the project bid process.
  • Experienced in developing and mentoring a team of junior team members.
  • Effective communication and technical writing skills.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
