Description

is seeking a Project Manager in the Land Development Division to support our growing Data Center group. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

This person can sit in any of our Virginia or North Carolina office locations.

This position requires Land Development, Real Estate Development and/or Construction specific experience. This position is not for Technical Infrastructure, IT, or Data Network Professionals.

Requirements

  • Manages Land Development Data Center civil engineering project efficiently (meets schedules and budgets)
  • Consults with client to determine project requirements
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project
  • Visits project site to ascertain existing conditions
  • Calculates cost and determines feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data
  • Prepares, conducts or directs preparation of reports, design, specifications, plans and construction administration
  • Conducts periodic on-site observations of work during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans and specifications
  • Prepares calculations, specifications, construction documents, and inspection reports for projects as assigned using discipline-specific software
  • Supports and communicates with team members throughout all stages of design, production, approval and construction processes


Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret
  • Ability to write effective reports and correspondence
  • Construction document and 3D production ability
  • Possesses a firm understanding of engineering design for all aspects of site development along with current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes and regulations
  • Embraces teamwork approach and possesses strong communication skills
  • Must possess strong technical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and other discipline specific software


Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of total experience, with four (4) as a Project Manager (or equivalent).
  • Graduate from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management's discretion).
  • This position requires travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United States
