About the OpportunityYou will be working closely with the Civil Superintendent, clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will be responsible for preparing estimates for civil construction projects including excavation, grading, site servicing, underground utilities, and installation of water, storm, and sanitary mains. Following the project being awarded, your role will involve managing project execution, including cost control, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor coordination, change management, and project closeout.
About the Position- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to determine project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil construction scopes, including excavation, grading, utilities, labour, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare competitive bids, pricing breakdowns, bid summaries, and tender submissions.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations while identifying scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
- Support pre-construction activities, including site visits, pre-bid meetings, budgeting, estimate revisions, and cost tracking.
- Manage civil construction projects from award through to completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, execution plans, cost forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Lead procurement and subcontractor management, including negotiations, awards, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
- Manage change orders, progress claims, invoicing, documentation, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, Superintendents, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and successfully.
Requirements- Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years' experience in Civil Construction estimating/project management
- Strong experience with estimating software and MS Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation- Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 DOE
