Description

RETTEW is seeking Project Managers at multiple experience levels to support our Land Development Team in Pittsburgh, PA. Whether you are building your project leadership experience or managing complex development projects, this role offers the opportunity to shape communities and support meaningful land development projects.

We are hiring at the Project Manager I, II, and III levels. Candidates will be placed at the appropriate level based on experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated project leadership capability.

Project Managers work closely with RETTEW's multi-discipline team and clients to deliver successful land development projects. Work includes office collaboration, client coordination, and periodic field visits to project sites.

Safety & Compliance Requirements

This position may be designated as safety-sensitive depending on client and project assignments. Candidates may be required to complete pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and motor vehicle record review. Employees may operate company vehicles, work in field environments, and must comply with all RETTEW safety policies and procedures.

Position Summary / What You'll Do

As a Project Manager supporting RETTEW's Land Development Team, you will lead or support land development projects from the proposal stage through planning, design, and construction. Projects may include residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and mixed-use developments.

Depending on experience level, you will manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships while coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders. Senior-level Project Managers may oversee multiple projects, mentor staff, and contribute to business development and strategic project planning.

Responsibilities / Day-to-Day
  • Plan and manage land development projects within a collaborative project management culture, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, and utility coordination
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, and budgets in partnership with local leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve risks or challenges, leveraging team expertise and leadership support as needed
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and manage internal resources, fostering teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
  • Serve as a primary client contact or support senior project leaders in client communication as part of an integrated project leadership team
  • Prepare proposals, project reports, cost estimates, and technical documentation with input from discipline leads and local office leadership
  • Coordinate permitting processes and maintain communication with municipalities and regulatory agencies, working closely with local leadership and project teams
  • Review engineering plans and ensure compliance with applicable standards and local regulations through coordinated quality control processes
  • Coordinate contractor activities and support construction-phase services in collaboration with internal teams and field staff
  • Identify and manage out-of-scope work and support contract modifications with guidance and alignment from project and business leadership
  • Complete project billing activities and assist with accounts receivable tracking in coordination with accounting and leadership teams
  • Participate in business development efforts and support client relationship growth through a team-based approach to client service
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development as part of a strongly supported, people-focused PM culture
  • Lead or participate in project meetings, work sessions, and stakeholder discussions alongside project team members and local leadership
  • Responsibilities increase in scope and leadership expectations across Project Manager levels, with larger projects, greater client responsibility, and increased team leadership at higher levels.


Qualifications

Required
