POSITION - CIVIL ENGINEER - LAND DEVELOPMENT

LOCATION - TENNESSEE OR ATLANTA

Arcadis is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team within the North America Places group. We are looking to grow our team of skilled multi-disciplinary engineers and engineering consultants throughout North America. This is a key location-based position.

Role description:

As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects in the infrastructure space. You will ensure these projects comply with safety standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines while managing budgets and timelines. You will also collaborate with Architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects.

This role is based out of our Chattanooga TN or Nashville TN or Knoxville TN or Atlanta GA, offices and requires 3 days a week in the office and 2 days a week from home.

Role accountabilities:
  • Assist with the execution of design tasks for civil infrastructure/site development, focusing on public and private development, including single and multi-family residential, institutional, and commercial development
  • Projects will include a variety of public and private project opportunities
  • Work directly with a project manager to assist with the completion of construction documents
  • Civil engineering design, including site layout, roadway layout, site grading and drainage, utility sizing and layout, storm water management design, including design of retention/detention facilities
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and ensure effective communication and problem-solving
  • Working with municipalities on permits

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSc CE) from an accredited school
  • PE in Civil Engineering OR the ability to write the PE exam within 6-12 months of hire date
  • 4 or more years or more of related experience - civil engineering projects with a focus on land development
  • Strong communication skills

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
