We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager to lead high-visibility projects including comprehensive electrical upgrades, underground utility locations, earthwork, paving and camera installation across New York state.

What you'll do

Summary / Objective

The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan this complex, multi-site electrical, earthwork and camera infrastructure project from inception to closeout. You will directly manage and provide the financial and operational oversight required to successfully service the client. You will use discretion and independent judgment to develop guidelines, monitor compliance, and ensure the project is delivered on time, to specifications, and within budget.

Essential Functions
  • Project Leadership: Lead an interdepartmental team to complete the assigned electrical upgrade projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Outline tasks, delegate accordingly, conduct cost analysis, and manage to the contract budget.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide recommendations for mitigation, particularly regarding site-specific safety hazards, weather impacts, and environmental restrictions (e.g., restricted tree-clearing periods).
  • Client & Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary liaison between Pro-Tel, client, facility representatives, customers, and vendors. Address questions, concerns, and complaints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scheduling & Administration: Utilize project management software to build and maintain the Baseline Project Schedule and execute Time Impact Analyses as required.
  • Cross-functional Interface: Interface with all levels of management in Pro-Tel sales, operations, engineering, installation, and procurement services to implement needed areas of change and operational improvements.


Pay Range is $115,000-$135,000 annually depending on experience

Location: Remote / Office Environment hybrid with travel to various field locations across NYS. 75%-99% travel

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Communication & Interpersonal: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet strict regulatory deadlines. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve and minimize recurring field problems.
  • Technical / Software: Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Google office applications, and general file structures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of (or the ability to quickly learn about) electrical upgrades, unit-price public works contracts, and minor abatement processes.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Hours: Must be able to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends as required by project demands.
  • Travel & Site Conditions: Includes an remote office environment, but also requires travel with potential overnight stays. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Physicality: Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
